Has the Robert O’Neill lecture been rescheduled?
The previously postponed April 7, 2020 lecture with Robert O’Neill has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the Sea Pines Resort in the Harbour Town Clubhouse Champions Ballroom. Guests will be given the option to choose between two separate seating options: 4:00 PM ET or 7:30 PM ET.
Do I need to exchange my previously purchased Lowcountry Speaker Series 2020 subscription ticket or individual Robert O’Neill ticket for a new ticket for the rescheduled event?
Yes. Because our venue has changed to the Sea Pines Resort Harbour Town Clubhouse, your originally selected seats are no longer valid. Rest assured that the Champion’s Ballroom offers a much more luxurious and intimate setting, and we will make every effort to place you in a comparable seat. To help with this process, please fill-out the NEW VENUE SEATING FORM no later than November 11, 2020. Once we receive responses from all existing guests, we will re-issue new tickets via Eventbrite before November 25, 2020.
Why are there two separate seating options for the Robert O’Neill lecture?
Your safety and welfare are of the utmost importance, and we are taking all necessary precautions to plan, prepare, and proceed with a successful live post-quarantine event. Currently, South Carolina recommends mass gathering limits to less than 250 people. We are optimistic that, in the coming months, these guidelines will become less restrictive.
Part of our plan is to reduce the number of guests in attendance by offering two separate seatings in Sea Pines’ Harbour Town Clubhouse Champions Ballroom for Robert O’Neill’s lecture: Group 1 Lecture 4:00-5:30 PM and Group 2 Lecture 7:30-9:00 PM. Each ticket-holder will also have the option to view the lecture virtually via live stream.
Will there be an option to participate in the Robert O’Neill lecture virtually?
Ticket holders that opt not to attend the face-to-face event at the Harbour Town Clubhouse Champions Ballroom will be provided virtual viewing access via live stream.
What if it is deemed unsafe to attend large gatherings when the Robert O’Neill event is scheduled to take place?
We will reschedule.
Are refunds for the Robert O’Neill lecture being provided?
Refunds are now being honored on an individual basis. Because there have been so few refund requests, there is no guarantee you will be able to secure a new ticket once they are available for purchase on November 25, 2020. To request a refund, please email email@example.com and include your name and physical mailing address.
When will tickets to the Robert O’Neill lecture go on sale?
Tickets for the Robert O’Neill lecture will be made available for purchase on November 25, 2020, after all existing guests have been reassigned seats from the previously postponed event.
Why should I participate in a virtual lecture?
Our live virtual webinars are interactive, allowing subscribers to engage with the speaker, and other guests, through real-time audience Q&A and polling during a candid, off-the-record event.
Can I purchase individual tickets for the virtual lectures?
Tickets for the virtual series are sold as a 2-lecture bundle only, as it is our hope that you will enjoy new perspectives from our diverse programming.
When will I receive my virtual tickets?
Our Eventbrite ticketing platform will send you an email confirming your subscription purchase. You will also receive “Virtual Access Instructions” via email from firstname.lastname@example.org immediately following your purchase and reminder emails 1-day and 1-hour prior to the event.
How is the 2-speaker virtual program set-up?
Our two-speaker virtual program will take place over three nights. Lowcountry Speaker Series Founder and Host, James Lamar, will conduct a 60-minute moderated discussion with Dr. Gottlieb. The second event will be a special two-night, exclusive, prescreening of Platon’s yet-to-be released film “Our Time.” As customary, each speaker will conclude his presentation with audience Q&A.
What will Dr. Scott Gottlieb likely discuss?
Dr. Gottlieb is one of our nation’s leading experts on today’s global pandemic, and his views on COVID-19 mitigation, treatment, testing, and drug development help shape many of our political, social, and economic policies.
What is your refund policy?
There are no refunds for virtual events.
What is the start time for the virtual lectures?
Virtual lectures start at 7:30 PM ET, but please log on 5-10 minutes early to ensure a smooth transition into our virtual Zoom room. Please go to https://www.lowcountryspeakerseries.com/tickets/purchase-now/ for additional information.
Provide some background on the genesis of "Our Time". When did Platon start working on this project and why?
Platon and his team used the COVID-19 lockdown to create a full-length feature film about his journey through life as a photographer and storyteller, while interacting with the movers and shakers of our time. The personal messages and stories are deeply moving and inspiring, especially during this unprecedented challenging time. Platon’s ultimate goal is to inspire a divided society to come together.
Can I get a recording or transcript of the virtual lectures?
By contract, the Lowcountry Speaker Series is strictly prohibited from distributing video, audio, or written transcripts of any presentation.
Why should I watch Platon's "Our Time" documentary?
The two-part documentary is an exclusive prescreening of British photographer Platon’s documentary on social justice and contemporary culture, titled “Our Time.” The film takes us behind the scenes of Platon’s intimate photoshoots and interviews with the movers and shakers of our time, featuring President Donald Trump, Barack and Michelle Obama, Vladimir Putin, George W. Bush, George Clooney, Professor Stephen Hawking, Elon Musk and many more. As Platon interacts with political and business leaders, as well as civil rights heroes and Hollywood celebrities, key themes emerge — the importance of empathy and compassion, what is good leadership, and how we can overcome division and political gridlock. Immediately following each of the two viewings, we’ll host Platon for a live 30-minute audience Q&A session.
How long is each virtual lecture?
While each virtual lecture may vary in duration and content, at a minimum, guests will enjoy both a presentation and a live Question and Answer period with each speaker. Questions are solicited in advance of each lecture, via email, and moderated by our host, James Lamar.
